Furaha Junior School

OUR STRORY

Furaha Junior School was started by Furaha Foundation under the leadership of Kalenzi Alex, who grew up facing many challenges accessing education.      After experiencing the struggles of many children in his community, he was inspired to create a school where vulnerable children could receive education and hope for a better life.  The school officially opened in January 2024 and has already impacted hundreds of children.

“Education is the most powerful tool we can give a child to break the cycle of poverty.”

The Children We Serve:

At Furaha Junior School, we serve children from vulnerable communities in Iganga, Uganda. Many of our students come from families that struggle to afford school fees, and some are orphans or live with single parents.          Our school ensures that every child has access to education, a safe learning environment, and hope for a better future.         Today, the school supports over 400 children, giving them the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream.

Our Classes

The school currently offers:
• Baby Class.

Campus Expansion

Our school is expanding steadily, and with this growth comes the need for additional infrastructure. To support the increasing number of students and ensure an optimal learning environment, we are constructing more classrooms as part of our ongoing campus development.

“Meeting Community Needs Through Accessible Education”

Furaha foundation started Furaha Junior School in response to the community’s urgent need for accessible, quality education. Many families in Iganga faced financial and logistical barriers to schooling, so the school was established to address these challenges, giving local children the opportunity to learn, grow, and build brighter futures.
